The Eye and the Camera

The human eye is an instrument of seeing. The camera records what the eye sees. The eye and the camera function in similar ways. Light enters (A) and passes through a small opening, which expands or contracts to regulate the varied intensity of light (B). The focused light reaches and is recorded on the light-sensitive surface (C). An image results.
